Personal or group employment in Slovakia for citizens of third countries:

The Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Republic of the Philippines, Georgia, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and other countries.

There are basic requirements for unskilled labor positions:

  1. Language skills. The requirements vary by profession. For unskilled labor positions in Slovakia, you need to have at least an A2 level proficiency in one of the following languages:
    • Slovak (preferred);
    • Russian (preferred);
    • Ukrainian (preferred);
    • English (preferred);

    An A2 level in language proficiency typically involves knowing around 2,500-3,000 words and being able to construct simple sentences.

    If you lack proficiency in any of the listed languages, we recommend hiring an online tutor to prepare yourself.

  2. Physical and manual skills. The second crucial criterion for unskilled labor is your physical and manual abilities.

The main requirements for specialized positions are:

  1. Language skills.
    • For technical professions such as electricians, welders, construction workers, mechanics, etc., the priority is Slovak at least at an A2 level, preferably with a technical focus in your specialty. If you know Ukrainian or Russian, there are also job opportunities for you.
    • A separate category includes drivers with CE or D licenses. A personalized approach is required here, but you should have at least one of the listed languages or at least one European language.
    • For professions requiring active communication in Slovakia, such as doctors, dentists, teachers, etc., a B1 level in Slovak is generally required.
    • Other professions, such as IT specialists, engineers, and other “office workers,” require a good level, i.e., B1/B2, and in some cases, C1/C2 in Slovak or English. Additionally, knowledge of other European languages, especially German, is often preferred.
  2. Technical skills.
    • In most cases, you must confirm your skills with an education certificate in your field. Before starting the job search process, you must go through the process of recognizing your education in Slovakia. This process can take up to 3 months, but after that, it will be much easier and faster to find a good job. This applies to all professions except drivers.
    • We are experienced in handling this. Therefore, we can systematically work on your employment process in Slovakia.

    • For CE drivers, a minimum of 3-6 months of work experience is typically required, and for D drivers, at least 1 year of experience. It is also advisable for drivers to have a tachograph, and having a CODE-95 is even better.
